Last week we wrote an overview article on the new Nissan Skyline GT-R, which is due in this year (and is already on sale is Japan). As it turns out, we are continuously fascinated by the ranks of this beast of a machine!
Edmunds.com recently made a trip to Japan to find an owner who was willing to let them use their GT-R in the world’s first full road test. As it turns out, this car is better than anticipated.
Nissan claims to have a 0-60 time of 3.5 sec. However, by using Nissan’s launch control option, were able to obtain times of 3.3 sec! This car is faster than the Porsche 911 Turbo, the Dodge Viper and the Corvette Z06. Edmunds.com drivers also beat the Nissan 1/4 mile time/speed at 11.6 sec and 121 mph. That time ties the Edmunds.com speeds with the Porsche 911 Turbo and leaves everyone else cowering.
